Healthcare Almanac Databases
1. Download Databases.
The databases are 40 to 300 Megabytes in zipped format. You should
have a DSL/High Speed
internet connection to download these files. The files are zipped and encrypted with WinZip Version 10. When you unzip the
database, you will be prompted for a password. You can obtain the password
by calling Client Support at 561-963-7550.
Please create a directory with a name like "Halmanac" or "HDatabases" (any name will work) to save
the downloaded files.
Click each button and select "Save"
to download each database.
2. Unzip each database.
After the downloads are complete,
unzip the files in the directory you created. When the files are unzipped, you will be prompted for a password. The password
is available from Client Support at 561-963-7550. There will be two files for each database, one with an .mdf extension and the
other with a .ldf extension
3. Attach each POS/UPIN Database.
Start the Provider Almanac software. Select the Databases menu item.
Select the POS submenu item. Click the Connect
button. The status window on the screen should show you are connected to SQL
Server. Select a Database POS_2002 through POS_2007 or UPIN_ALL. Then
click the Attach button. Navigate to the database file, highlight
the database file and then click the Open button. This will attach the database for
access by Provider Almanac.
4. Attach each CR Database.
Start the Provider Almanac software by selecting the item on the menubar. Select
the Databases menu item. Select the CR menu item. Click the Connect
button. The status window on the screen should show you are connected to SQL
Server. Select a Database CR_2002 through CR_2007. Then click the
Attach button. Navigate to the database file, highlight the database
and then click the Open button. This will attach
the database for access by Provider Almanac.
5. Set the Access Mode for the Databases
Start the Provider Almanac software by selecting the item on the menubar.
Select the databases menu item. Select the Access menu item. Then select
"Local" as the access method.
