Reference Almanac

Reference Almanac is a summary of Provider and Population Almanac with additional information from CMS and internet sources.  The information is organized by provider, geography and medical codes.  The providers are the 12 provider types in POS data with information from the cost reports.  The geography information is state, region, county, MSA, city/places and zipcodes/ZTAC information.  The medical codes are the DRGs, HCPCS, APCs and ICD-9s that are available from the internet on the CMS website.

The primary goal of Reference Almanac is to provide "basic" Business Intelligence information about your service area or peer group.  All information is available by geography and provider.  The medical codes provide research information for the changes in payment rates.  If more analysis is requried, you can use the Provider and Population Almanacs for more informaton.
